Introduction of party

Projet Montréal is a municipal party that offers Montreal residents an alternative way of city living, centered on sustainable development, good management, democracy and quality of life for citizens. It is Projet Montréal’s wish that the inhabitants of this city once again become proud to be Montrealers, belonging to a city that is on the forefront in matters of urban planning, culture, economy and transparency.

Co-founded in 2004 by Richard Bergeron and Claude Mainville, Projet Montréal as a party today counts 13 elected officials in its ranks, two borough mayors with majority administrations (Plateau-Mont-Royal and Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie), more than 1,000 members and a dedicated, competent team. While Richard Bergeron is the leader of Projet Montréal, he is also the leader of the second opposition to the mayor of Montréal.

Richard Bergeron is a candidate for the mayor’s office for the November 2013 municipal elections.
