Érika Duchesne

City Councillor, Vieux-Rosemont district - Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie

Before her election as Vieux-Rosemont councillor during the April 2012 by-election, Érika Duchesne was a self-employed translator and adaptor. She has always been very involved un her community, notably as board member for a childcare center as well as service team manager for disaster victims for the Montreal chapter of Red Cross. She completed her studies in translation and languistics with a diploma in health, environment and disaster management to feed her growing interest in urban issues.

She is a Projet Montréal member since the 2009 campaign and is since invoved in the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie Local Borough Associations (ALA). Érika Duchesne also has a support role on the City of Montreal’s executive committee for the portfolios of sports and recreation and ethnic communities.

Érika Duchesne is very preoccupied with the exodus of Montreal families to the suburbs. She is particularly interested in housing, active and public transportation, and access to culture.
