Fadima Touré-Diallo holds a Master's degree in Economics from ENA in Mali and has a long list of accomplishments. In addition to having founded several businesses, she launched the nonprofit Manifeste du Canada pour le Mali, which works for the return of peace and security in that country. She was also a strategic advisor to Afrique Expansion, a consulting group specializing in communications and business development, where she worked on major projects such as the Digital City in Africa and the integrated development of a forest area.
Her interest in politics is not new, since in addition to having held several important positions in both Quebec and Mali, Fadima was a minister in the transitional government of Mali. Sensitive to environmental issues and the protection of biodiversity, she decided to enter municipal politics. She believes that many concrete actions can be taken at the municipal level to protect the environment in which her fellow citizens live. The unique character of the borough of L'Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève needs courageous elected officials who will put environmental issues at the heart of their political involvement.
For the next election, outgoing mayor Normand Marinacci, presents a renewed and dynamic team comprised of citizens from all walks of life. They have the future of their community at heart.
Several years of citizen involvement have shaped Île-Bizard─Sainte-Geneviève’s living environment, but the work is not over!
The Marinacci team has a clear vision for the protection of the environment and the rural character of the borough, to benefit future generations. Recreational and sports facilities for all residents, as well as mobility and safety, will also be among the team's priorities.
