The borough of Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles is pleased to launch its 2021-2031 strategic plan, which was adopted by the Council on June 1st. Accompanied by an action plan covering the next five years, it is the result of a process that brought together stakeholders from all sectors. It will ensure the harmonious and sustainable development of the borough, based on vision and collective objectives.
The 2021-2031 strategic plan is based on five major orientations: fostering the development, inclusion and commitment of the community; creating dynamic, attractive and welcoming living environments; facilitating and securing travel on the territory; becoming a green, dynamic and prosperous economic hub; and adopting innovative and mobilizing initiatives in terms of the ecological transition. No less than 18 objectives and 78 actions stem from these orientations and constitute a first action plan, which will be revised in 2026.
A UNIFYING APPROACH
Obviously, such a reflection could not be done alone. This is why the borough took into consideration 750 contributions from citizens, elected officials, borough employees and representatives of organizations, who were consulted through meetings, surveys and Facebook live workshops, all in the context of a pandemic.
"Where do we see Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles in 10 years? I am pleased that the question has intrigued the population, employees and organizations alike. Their participation in this process is essential to the realization of our vision for the future, so that we can continue to create a living environment that reflect their image, while always keeping in mind our mission: to offer quality local services in an innovative sustainable way, with the commitment of the borough's teams and partners, for the well-being of its population," said Caroline Bourgeois, Mayor of Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles.
Ms. Bourgeois took the opportunity to recall the common vision that emerged from these consultations and that gave rise to the strategic plan: "I often say that I want the citizens of our borough to be able to achieve at all stages of their lives, and I find this in our vision: With its diverse population and its remarkable green and blue environments, in 2031, RDP-PAT will be a flourishing borough where it is good to live, study and work," said Ms. Bourgeois.
"The past few years have allowed us to launch or complete some incredibly promising projects for our borough. This strategic plan will guide us in continuing this momentum, by bringing together the territory's vital forces towards a common destination, the Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles of 2031," concluded the borough's mayor.
