During the last four years, Montrealers – and residents of Pierrefonds-Roxboro in particular – have witnessed Valérie Plante’s and Projet Montréal’s incredible achievements. In our great neighbourhood, a vote for our Projet Montéal’s candidates means a vote for:
SAFE ROADS FOR EVERYONE
We want our streets to feel and be safer, especially near our school zones, and this can be done by:
Adding pedestrian zones where required,
Making sure our cycle paths truly feel safe both for kids and their parents,
Rectifying traffic incoherence, i.e. by adding traffic signs or lights on mains roads, like at the western limit of Pierrefonds Boulevard.
STOP JIM BEIS ABUSIVE TAX HIKES!
We will stop the logic of always digging deeper, always from the same pockets, by putting forward an efficient economic strategy in order to:
Bringing the tax hikes back to the inflation rate,
Finally stop and reverse the small business exodus we are witnessing,
Truly revitalize our local economy,
Diversify our income sources instead of always expecting more from the same taxpayers!
A GRAND PARC DE L’OUEST: FOR US, OUR CHILDREN AND THEIR CHILDREN…
Moving forward with the acquisition and landscaping of this great new park south of Cap-St-Jacques is of the outmost importance! During the Coderre years, he and Jim Beis tried to impose massive deforestation and zone change to this bucolic area, while we, at Projet Montréal, have:
Protected the equivalent of the Mount Royal in green spaces in Pierrefonds, in order for us all to have access to these pastoral sights. Only Projet Montréal wishes to move forward in this direction,
Landscaped, in only four years, the Grand Sentier de l’Ouest, a nature trail over 8,3 km long, which is simply an example of Projet Montréal’s philosophy on preserving natural habitats and biodiversity, diversify recreation and tourism services and activities, as well as creating learning opportunities.
NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS YOU REALLY WANT TO – AND CAN – SPEND TIME IN
It is high time for our smaller recreation parks to bring their infrastructure up to date by:
Creating more sanitary facilities and public toilets in small parks,
Improving the accessibility and operating hours of those already in existence,
Adding public bins as well as putting forward a collection strategy which really fills the needs of our population.
GIVING A LITTLE LOVE TO OUR MAIN STREETS
Main streets like Gouin and St-Charles Boulevard need to be revitalized and this can be done by:
Making them visually appealing to pedestrians,
Making them fiscally attractive to the commercial and restauration industries,
Therefore creating a neighbourhood “heart” where one can shop and walk around, taking advantage of our renowned joie de vivre!
