Projet Montréal leader Luc Rabouin announced today that Gabriel Fortin is running for borough councilor in the Jeanne Mance district, in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough. This nomination follows a democratic nomination process in which Projet Montréal members were invited to vote. With this new candidacy, Projet Montréal reaffirms its commitment to electing candidates who are close to their communities, rooted in their neighborhoods, and who have an ambitious vision for Montreal.
This candidacy completes the Projet Montréal team for Plateau-Mont-Royal. It will be composed of Cathy Wong for borough mayor, Alex Norris and Gabriel Fortin in the Jeanne Mance district, Maeva Vilain and Laurence Parent in the Lorimier district, and Marie Sterlin and Marie Plourde in the Mile-End district.
With this team combining experience and renewal, Projet Montréal will continue to pursue its ambitious vision for green, vibrant and people-friendly neighborhoods in Plateau-Mont-Royal.
Biography – Gabriel Fortin
Gabriel Fortin is a software engineer and senior architect at Bell Canada, where he leverages his expertise in large-scale project management and technology solution development. Passionate about urban planning, he is currently pursuing graduate studies in mobility, transportation, and urban planning at the University of Montreal. Active in the youth commission of Projet Montréal, he is committed to putting his energy and skills to work for his community. A resident of the Plateau-Mont-Royal for over four years, he wants to help build a greener, more accessible and forward-looking city by focusing on sustainable transportation, greening and access to housing.
