Projet Montréal leader Luc Rabouin today unveiled his team of candidates for the borough of Anjou. Led by Alex Megelas for borough mayor, the team will also include Jean-Louis Sabin, candidate for city councilor in the Anjou district; Loïc de Fabritus, candidate for borough councilor in the West district; Janny Gaspard, candidate for borough councilor in the East district and Melissa Cloutier in the Center district.
With this team, Projet Montréal offers the people of Anjou a clear vision for the future of their borough: to build greener, more supportive neighborhoods on a human scale. The party wants to improve residents' quality of life by focusing on safe and inclusive neighborhoods, better public and active transportation options, protecting green spaces, and supporting local communities. Projet Montréal also intends to strengthen social cohesion and encourage active citizen participation so that every voice counts in Anjou's development.
Biography – Alex Megelas
Alex Megelas has been a committed leader for over 25 years, working at the intersection of community engagement, education and innovation. As Director of Strategic Initiatives at Concordia's Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence and Associate Professor at Saint Paul University, he has developed partnerships with government, industry and community stakeholders throughout his career to put technology at the service of equity and sustainable development. He has contributed to major projects in several Montreal neighborhoods by collaborating with public institutions, citizen organizations and local businesses. After completing graduate studies at Concordia and doctoral studies at McGill, he devoted himself to the study of action research practices and citizen engagement. As co-founder and administrator of several cultural and community organizations, he is recognized for his ability to build bridges between different communities. Driven by a deep commitment to social justice and citizen participation, he now wishes to put his experience and leadership to work for Anjou, to make it a more united, sustainable and inclusive borough.
Biography – Jean-Louis Sabin
Jean-Louis Sabin is a young retiree with a diverse background at the crossroads of management, public health and human relations. Trained in strategic management and public health, he has devoted his career to organizational development and health promotion, both in Quebec and internationally. A communications trainer and expert advisor in social innovation, he contributed to a research project at the University of Sherbrooke on support for seniors and caregivers. A volunteer for over 30 years, he has supported the Red Cross and several service clubs, both here and abroad, by promoting solidarity and community initiatives. As vice-president of AQDR-Rosemont, he is actively working to break the isolation of elderly people in Montreal through concrete civic actions. Today, he wishes to put his expertise and experience at the service of the Anjou borough council to build an inclusive, supportive and people-centered community.
Biography – Loïc de Fabritus
Loïc de Fabritus has been working for over 15 years at the intersection of ecology, international solidarity and citizen participation. A specialist in advocacy and engagement, he has put his expertise in communication and mobilization to work for leading organizations such as Équiterre, Fairtrade Canada and COPTICOM. His career has also taken him to the European political scene, where he has acquired a keen understanding of democratic institutions and dynamics. Former president of ENvironnement JEUnesse and administrator of Équiterre, he is recognized for his ability to bring people together around ambitious and inclusive projects. Trilingual and deeply attached to Montreal, he now wishes to put his experience to work for the people of Anjou to meet the borough's challenges and build a future that is sustainable, equitable and inspiring.
Biography – Janny Gaspard
Janny Gaspard is a social entrepreneur and activist committed to inclusion and citizen participation. With degrees in political communication from the University of Montreal and in arts from Concordia University, she puts her expertise to work for several organizations and institutions, including the Equal Voice Foundation, PME MTL Est-de-l'Île and others. Founder of Femme qui Fonce and Femmes Politiques au Canada, she has been working for nearly ten years to empower women and increase their representation in decision-making spheres. Very involved in her community, she sits on various boards of directors and actively contributes to the economic, social, and cultural vitality of eastern Montreal. Recognized both nationally and internationally, she now wishes to put her experience and energy to work for Anjou, in order to build a more inclusive, supportive and future-oriented borough.
Biography – Melissa Cloutier
Melissa Cloutier has been a committed professional in the field of education for over twenty years. With a bachelor's degree in psychoeducation and a certificate in addiction intervention, she has worked primarily at the Centre de services scolaire de Montréal (CSSDM), where she has supported students with special needs, assisted school teams and coordinated the work of intervention specialists. Her career has led her to hold a variety of positions, ranging from special education technician to team manager and rehabilitation officer. Known for her listening skills, leadership and ability to build bridges between schools, families, and community organizations, she has also chaired the governing board of an elementary school and been involved in several local collaborative projects. Driven by a deep desire to improve quality of life and social cohesion, she now wishes to put her expertise and energy to work for the citizens of Anjou.
