The leader of Projet Montréal, Luc Rabouin, announced today that Maryse Bouchard is running for city councilor in the Peter McGill district, in the Ville-Marie borough. This new candidacy joins those of Chris McCray in the Sainte-Marie district and Robert Beaudry in the St-Jacques district, completing the Projet Montréal team for the Ville-Marie borough.
Led by Projet Montréal leader Luc Rabouin, who is also running for mayor of Ville-Marie, this complementary team is ready to continue and expand the work already underway to green public spaces, make streets safer for all users, boost local economic development, and adapt to climate change. Together, Maryse Bouchard, Robert Beaudry, and Chris McCray will draw on their diverse experiences, community roots, and knowledge of local issues to continue making Ville-Marie a people-friendly, innovative, and forward-looking borough.
Biography – Maryse Bouchard
With more than 30 years of experience working for the City of Montreal, Maryse Bouchard has led and transformed public services in culture, sports, recreation, and social development, particularly in Ville-Marie, where she contributed to major projects such as the creation of the Faubourgs cultural district, the implementation of EMMIS, the creation of the Sanaaq Center, and the implementation of homelessness intervention plans.
A seasoned manager, social entrepreneur, and recognized communicator, she has always worked to improve access to culture, support the community, and respond to the needs of citizens through innovative initiatives. Driven by the conviction that municipal politics can have a concrete impact on quality of life, she has an ambitious vision of a creative, resilient, inclusive, and vibrant metropolis, rooted in its neighborhoods, rich in diversity, and focused on the future.
Her candidacy will bring strategic expertise and in-depth knowledge of the field to the Projet Montréal team in Ville-Marie, which are essential for continuing the positive transformation of the borough and a vibrant downtown.
