Montreal, September 19, 2025 – This morning, Luc Rabouin, leader of Projet Montréal, officially submitted his candidacy for mayor of Montreal to the office of the returning officer, making him the first official candidate in the mayoral race. Surrounded by the candidates for borough mayor, he took advantage of this moment to kick off an election campaign that he hopes will be mobilizing, focused on the real issues affecting the people of Montreal.

“An election campaign is an opportunity to have frank, open and necessary discussions about the challenges we face. In the coming weeks, I want to present Montrealers with concrete solutions to the issues that concern them: the housing and homelessness crises, the development of our economy and the effects of climate change on the city. And it is with Projet Montréal, a team of committed individuals who are rooted in their communities and recognized in their fields, that we will be able to meet these challenges. They are local leaders who understand the realities on the ground and work every day to improve life in their neighborhoods, which is the hallmark of Projet Montréal," said Luc Rabouin, leader of Projet Montréal.
Throughout the campaign, Projet Montréal will put forward a coherent, ambitious vision deeply rooted in the daily needs of the population. At the heart of this vision is the desire to simplify the city's operations and offer more efficient, accessible and humane public services. Projet Montréal will present innovative commitments to protect affordability, take swift action on homelessness, support the commercial vitality of neighborhoods and build a resilient and sustainable city capable of responding to climate challenges.
