Leadership Race

On March 15, 2025, members will elect the new leader of Projet Montréal. This is an important milestone in the party's democracy.


There are several important steps leading up to the Projet Montréal leadership election.


  • December 9, 2024: start of the call for candidates for the leadership race
  • January 31, 2025: end of nominations
  • February 3, 2025: start of the electoral race
  • February 13, 2025: deadline to become a member of Projet Montréal in order to vote
  • March 15, 2025: polling date

  • 1. As a member, what does the leadership race entail for me?

    This is an important moment in the party's democracy. As a member, we invite you to find out more about the candidates in the leadership race.


    As the candidacies are confirmed, pages dedicated to each of them will be available on our website. Projet Montréal will also be creating other content to introduce you to the candidates.


    We also invite you to take part in the various activities that will be organized as part of the leadership race, such as the debate or other events organized by the teams of each campaign.

  • 2. What are the rules for donations in the leadership race?

    There are a number of ways in which you can financially support candidates in the leadership race.


    You can make a donation to Projet Montréal by naming a candidate as a canvasser. The maximum amount you can donate to Projet Montréal for the year 2025 is $200. To make your donation, you can fill out this form.


    You can also give directly to a candidate to support his or her campaign. The maximum amount you can donate for all candidates is $200. You could give $200 to a single candidate or, for example, $50 to four different candidates. Contact the candidates to find out how to donate.

  • 3. How do I vote?

    You had until February 13, 2025 to become a member. If you are not a member, it is no longer possible to become a voting member.


    If you are a member, please ensure that your membership is valid until at least March 15.


    You can renew your membership via this form.


    All members in good standing will receive voting details by e-mail.

  • 4. I am a member. When and how will I be able to vote?

    Voting will take place in person and online.

    Sunday, March 9, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


    Monday, March 10, 9am to 5pm


    Tuesday, March 11, 3pm to 8pm


    The location will be confirmed by e-mail to members.


    Voting day


    Saturday, March 15, 9am to 5pm

    Online voting


    Members in good standing with a valid e-mail address will receive a link to vote. Online voting will take place from March 12 at noon to March 15 at noon.
