Jocelyn Pauzé
Marie-Victorin
Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie
Jocelyn Pauzé once claimed he had no interest in politics. Yet it was his deep commitment to his community that led him—almost against his own expectations—all the way to City Council. It all began in 2001, when he was working as a youth worker at the Alphonse-Desjardins recreation center, the only indoor space in East Rosemont dedicated to sports, culture, and community life. That year, when the CSDM announced its intention to take back the building, Jocelyn refused to see this cornerstone of the neighborhood disappear. People told him the battle was already lost. He did not take no for an answer. He rallied local stakeholders, fostered dialogue, and two months later, the center was able to continue its activities! That first fight set the tone for what was to come. In 2003, he was elected school commissioner for Rosemont–Nord, a position he held for 14 years while remaining involved at the recreation center. In 2017, he decided to take the next step and joined Projet Montréal, determined to make change happen at the municipal level.
Once elected, Jocelyn embraced a posture of listening and learning. He never hesitated to ask questions, meet people, and host numerous 'citizen cafés' to stay close to the concerns of the community. His leadership style is simple and approachable: he deeply believes that every resident holds part of the solution. He takes great pride in concrete projects carried out in his district, such as the revitalization of Le P’tit Beaubien, improving safety at the Beaubien and Pie-IX intersection—once one of the most dangerous in Montreal—the creation of an intergenerational pedestrian mobility corridor on Beaubien Street, and the modernization of community facilities that breathe new life into parks and allow residents to enjoy activities year-round.
But it is in the field of public recreation that Jocelyn has left his greatest mark. He contributed to the "Diagnostic du loisir public montréalais", an important milestone that led, in 2025, to the adoption of the Montreal Public Recreation Policy—the first of its kind for a Quebec municipality! He also spearheaded, in 2020–2021, the very first Recreation Master Plan in his borough.
Jocelyn chairs the Commission on Culture, Heritage, and Sports, and also serves on the Council of the Montreal Metropolitan Community. True to his community roots, Jocelyn wants to continue building a city that is active, supportive, welcoming, and dynamic—a city where every neighborhood has the resources it needs to fully thrive.

The Team
Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie
Faced with environmental and social crises, Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie has chosen action, solidarity and boldness. Since 2021, we have transformed our streets and parks through massive investments in cleanliness and greening. For Projet Montréal, public services are the pillars of an ambitious ecological and social transition. From 2025 to 2029, we will continue this transformation: making transportation safer, demineralizing our living environments and creating public spaces that bring people together. Together, we are building a greener, fairer, more humane neighborhood. Change is underway, and it's only just beginning!
