Alex Megelas

Alex Megelas is a committed leader with more than 25 years of experience at the crossroads of community engagement, education, and innovation. He is Director of Strategic Initiatives at Concordia’s Applied AI Institute and an Associate Professor at Saint Paul University. Throughout his career, he has built partnerships with government, industry, and community stakeholders to harness technology in the service of equity and sustainable development. In doing so, he has contributed to major projects across several Montréal neighborhoods, working in collaboration with public institutions, citizen organizations, and local businesses.

After completing graduate studies at Concordia and doctoral work at McGill, Alex focused his research on action-research practices and citizen engagement. As co-founder and board member of several cultural and community organizations, he has been recognized for his ability to build bridges across sectors.

Driven by a deep commitment to social justice and citizen participation, Alex now wishes to put his experience and leadership at the service of Anjou, to help shape a borough that is more united, sustainable, and inclusive.
